Brilliant. Another victim on the "War on Terror".

Firefighters are having a great deal of trouble dealing with blazes of this size and ferocity, despite receiving support from the rest of the country. A group of Mexican firefighters also arrived in the state yesterday, keen to help their American compatriots. One major reason they are having such difficulties combatting the blazes, the Portland Tribune noted deep in one article, is that many of the state’s largest firefighting aircraft are not available because the Department of Defense has sent them to Afghanistan to fight in a 20-year-old war. Six Chinook helicopters, for example, have been redeployed to the Asian nation, critically undermining both rescue and firefighting missions at home.

Nicely done, I knew you could find a way to blame Trump. Just so you know, it was an Antifa bottom feeder who set Oregon on fire.

Wow, where did I blame Trump? I suppose you could include him in but I'm blaming our worthless wars.

I don't know who you are and who wrote this stupid thing but Chinooks make lousy fire fighting choppers when there are better and cheaper options like the Huey, Ranger and the like. Besides, in a mountain region, why would I place a high degree of importance on a chopper that has trouble making it over a 12K altitude with a useful load? That's a lot of millions wasted on the wrong job.

Yea not good is it? BTW, we'd better watch out for those Mexican firefighters. Many people are saying that they are terrorists aligned with AntiFa who will set more fires! ;)

Nah, but they are going to overstay their visas and fight fires to be paid under the table for half what a US Firefighter would get. Let's get stupid.

The National Guard is normally equipped by the Feds. Now, if you Pocket Patriots want to, you can work with the Governor to fire up a SDF and buy your own Choppers. But chances are, you are not going to find a need for an Chinooks when choppers that cost 6 times less can do a better job. But knowing your bunch, being the fiscal conservatives you are (LMAO) you are going to spend the millions on the Chinooks.

Yo shitstain, I said Oregon should have their own and not depend on other states, fed or military....while the author bemoans military spending no less

Sit the fuck down.... furthermore more I'd much rather see those Chinooks aiding our military rather than sitting waiting on some leftard asshole being an arsonist

How's that, Man Bun?
