A lot of our power down here in Georgia is derived through a nuclear plant, Plant Vogtle. We don't really rely on oil given we're running off a nuclear reactor.

He's always been a big supporter of the police state. You respond with a tariff with counter-tariffs, you don't engage in an act of war.

He is used to his friends smacking around Canada citizens with a smile so he believes he can do the same to America.

I warned Canada. THey thought he was bluffing, even I thought so because it came out of the blue. Once he kept repeating his threats I suspected he was very serious.

I suspect Trump will tear of USMCA and go with bilateral agreements each with Canada and Mexico in 2-3 years time. Just my guess based on the trajectory of the speed of his efforts to bring back manufacturing.

The U.S countered Japans action during WWII by placing an embargo on oil.

The Pearl Harbor attack followed.

Our economy is so weak, so centrally controlled by nepotism and big government, especially with in the police apparatus that we KNOW that counter tariff wont work and our economy is to weak for them.

Thus, we try and go beyond the initial challenge of tariffs by hurting you more.

What if Trump retaliates by saying, "we are not going to defend ANY nation who doesn't pay 2% in NATO".
