Only 5% of New Yorkers Voted for Islamic-socialist Mamdani.

I guess the GOP has nothing to offer someone from NYC. Maybe their tent needs expanding?
The democrats offer $Billions in welfare to illegals, people burned alive in the subways, AOC, crime, and high taxes. At some point, your tent doesn't cover the fat ass of Letitia James.

Exactly. NYC is very diverse and people are used to different races, nationalities, etc....

They'll leave to avoid the socialism.
No, they won't because Wall Street benefits from socialism. Keep on letting the very rich tell you how terrible socialism is while they get it.

We have no problem with Muslims.

It's ISLAMISTS that are the problem.

I suggest you learn the difference.

is there any islamist polcies?

According to people I know who have lived in socialist countries, yes.
Well, it looks like we'll get a chance to find out. Someone's gonna have to pay for all that "free shit".

The high achievers will leave because their money will be redistributed via astronomical taxes.

All they need to do is move out to Connecticut. Problem solved (for them).

The problem with socialism is that it disincentives EVERYONE.

For those with minimal education or career training, it disincentives them from making the sacrifices to earn a decent salary. Why take the subway from Queens to downtown Manhattan every day, including walking to and from the stations when it’s snowing, or raining, or sleeting, and then working 8 hours as an office support worker or an assistant manager at a restaurant for $50,000 a year when your basic needs are met? Or, why go to school at night to get a degree and qualify for a better job?

To the high achievers, why sacrifice to train for a well-paying career, and then work 60 hours a week, when your taxes will be sky-high to provide for the people who did not prepare for a career (or trade)?

Or, to put it in simpler terms, would C students expend effort to bring up their grade, and would A students keep putting in all that time and effort to ace tests, if everyone was going to get a B no matter what?

If NYC is so bad, why do so many people willingly pay so much to live there?

Maybe because they have historic roots there?

Hm. I see the primary objection to the Democrat primary victor as stemming from his mindless embrace of socialism.

I suspect that “racism” has little to do with it. The fact that he supports Islamists is the actual and real reason he has raised alarms —beyond his socialist thinking and proposals.

Socialist. And Islamist. And NYC Democrat Primary voters gave that knucklehead a thumbs up? God help NY City and its populace. They’re gonna need it if that guy wins.

Maybe because they have historic roots there?
A factor for sure but not the only one. I was born and raised in NYC and, like most of my family, moved away. The historic pattern was for new immigrants to settle in NY neighborhoods with fellow immigrants that spoke their language and culture. Their children were more mobile, with only one foot in the old neighborhood. The grandchildren had few ties to the old neighborhood and, like me, often left the city. Happily for the city, both immigrants and people from other states still come to NY.

Yep. And the islamist has discoverd that he can he can humiliate white liberals by taxing them to pay for his free stuff.

If he becomes mayor, almost nothing will change. Because most peoples lives don't change, just because of politics.

Their lives would most certainly change in NYC if this guy implements the policies he has proposed. Maybe it is a good thing. NYC and Democrats in general need a wake up call. This would do it.
