I'll dispute that people have a "set" personality that is unchangeable. Mainly based on my life experiences in seeing significant change in some people.

I'd suggest you read your last paragraph several times and give it much contemplation. You haven't shown much tolerance for those with opposite views(political parties). In my youth I was more inclined to the Left-liberal-Democrat, over time I shifted and a few+ decades ago shifted to the Right-Conservative-Republican.
