In an apparent appeal to female voters, Trump insisted that he would act as the protector of women—whether or not they wanted him in that role.

At his rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Trump said his advisors warned him against saying he wanted to "protect the women of our country," but did so anyway.

“They said, ‘Sir, I just think it’s inappropriate for you to say.’ I pay these guys a lot of money. Can you believe it,” Trump explained.

"Well, I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not. I’m going to protect them," Trump explained, adding that he would protect them from migrants and foreign countries.

The comment alarmed people on the internet, including Harris-Walz campaign spokesperson Lauren Hitt.

Reposting a clip of Trump's remarks on X.com, Hitt commented: "Saying the quiet part out loud."

Trump is really chasing women voters. How do the women feel? What do you think?
Most parents protect their kids, whether they like it or not. Americans need to be saved from themselves. My son was seriously injured twice doing things his mother shouldn't have allowed him to do. Where was I you ask. My state decided that my kids were better off in their mother's 'custody and care'. My daughter was sexually abused while in her mother's custody and care.

I disagree - but okay...
Well…the presidency is the jewel in the crown but Congress has a lot of power to either aid or hinder the president. One mistake the Democrats have made has been to focus only on the top of the ticket.

with Gray’s victory, Republicans won 220 seats to Democrats’ 215. Overall, Democrats gained one seat from their pre-election total.

The Republican majority is likely to be even tighter in the early part of next year – former GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida resigned from the House last month and won’t take his seat in the new Congress. Republican Reps. Elise Stefanik of New York and Mike Waltz of Florida are expected to leave the chamber to take positions in the Trump administration.

If all three seats are vacant at once, a 217-215 majority would mean that Republicans couldn’t afford to lose a single member on a party-line vote.
