If No More Wars literally meant: "This will be our policy no matter what even if you kick us in the teeth," that would be a rather self-defeating foreign policy revelation. I view No More Wars as a GOAL, a preferred direction rather than some fixed, rigid policy unchanging no matter what.

And in this case, it may be that Trump has played No More Wars brilliantly, strategically, tricking Iran into a position where now their eventual defeat is irrevocable.
