Trump had the border under control. What has changed since then? Not Congress. When will Congress, EVER, figure out and solve this.
Never, because it is a political vote.
FUCK Congress.
Worthless.
Then why did the Libtard Elitist Martha's Vinyard racists bum rush these "asylum seekers" off the island using 120 National Guard troops and send them to a military base?Is it legal to cross the U.S. border to seek asylum?
Families escaping violence and persecution in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and other countries in crisis have undertaken a dangerous journey to seek safety in the United States.
People arriving at the U.S. border have the right to request asylum without being criminalized, turned back, used for political stunts or separated from their children. Here’s how the process works:
Is seeking asylum legal?
Yes, seeking asylum is legal—even during a pandemic. Asylum seekers must be in the U.S. or at a port of entry (an airport or an official land crossing) to request the opportunity to apply for asylum. "There’s no way to ask for a visa or any type of authorization in advance for the purpose of seeking asylum,” says IRC director of asylum and immigration legal services Olga Byrne. “You just have to show up."
During the COVID-19 pandemic, epidemiologists and other public health experts have made clear that asylum seekers and their children can be safely processed at the border using public health measures.

The political calculus for DeSantis is he believes he has the FL gubernatorial race in the bag, and that immigration is a winning issue for him in his race for the presidency. Just like all the other social wedge issues he flogs. All the time avoiding answering questions about exactly where he stands on various matters concerning abortion.
It's a little odd for the gov. of FL to be doing this to asylum seekers seeing as once upon a time the state welcomed asylum seekers trying to escape the communist regime in Cuba.
Nothing to defend, Simp. If you read our posts you would see we are celebrating their actions because they have exposed the ginormous hypocrisy of you "Sanctuary City" supporting Dimtard dumbasses. It was only a matter of time before Repubs tried to flip the script from the disgusting actions taken by Abbott and Desantis because of their lack of willingness or ability to try to defend them.
MASSIVE HUMAN TRAFFICKING!The Department of Homeland Security plans to transport migrants awaiting immigration proceedings from U.S. cities along the southern border farther into the interior of the country, beginning with Los Angeles in the coming weeks, according to internal documents obtained by NBC News.
The plan would alleviate overcrowding along the border, where record numbers of border crossers have overwhelmed the capacity of shelters in some cities, at times leading Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, to release migrants on the street to fend for themselves.
Typically, migrants who are allowed to stay in the country and make asylum claims are released to shelters run by religious and nongovernmental organizations after they are released from CBP custody. From there, the migrants pay for flights and bus transportation to cities where they go before immigration judges who will rule on their asylum claims.
