Ms. Manigault-Newman was correct in making a distinction between the words "racist" and "racial" (or "racialist"),
A "racist" -- in my opinion -- is someone who automatically dislikes another person because of that person's skin color or eye shape. A racist will verbally or physically mistreat someone of another ethnicity. (A person of ANY ethnicity can be a racist.)
A "racialist" -- in my opinion -- is someone who treats all ethnicities with perfect courtesy and who respects every person's rights under the law. A racialist NEVER uses verbal or physical threats.
Here is an example that I recently came across. Let's call him "Joe."
When "Joe" wants to take an elevator, he will not enter that enclosed area if he notices that the only other occupants are teenagers or twentysomethings who -- he thinks -- may harm him.
Some people would call "Joe" a racist if those elevator occupants happen to belong to a particular ethnicity.
Other people disagree. They would point out that Joe simply does not want to take any chances that he might be in physical harm.

I agree with Ms. Manigualt-Newman that President Trump is NOT a racist.
I agree with her that he is "racial" (or a "racialist"). That is to say, he takes into consideration the differences between the various ethnicities, and he is proud of his ethnicity, just as every other American is proud of his/her ethnicity.
