The good old days. Classic Hollywood, the golden eras of well trained, well mannered, and well loved personalities.
Actors, singers, comedians, dancers..........

Wanna give a shoutout to an oldie but goodie?

When Danny Thomas approached Andy Griffith about making a TV show around his character "Sheriff Andy Taylor" - obviously he was interested.
In an interview much later, Griffith said he knew the show wouldn't work. "It wouldn't get past the 1st season" He knew it needed another character that was more comedic than himself. And he thought of his friend Don Knotts. Knotts said "you need a Deputy", which the producers were not supportive of, because the story line is Mayberry is a rinky dink town where the Sheriff runs the whole town, including printing the towns newspaper.
Griffith convinces them - and Deputy Barney Fife became a reality.

Producers of Sanford and Son needed a more reoccurring friend for Fred Sanford.
At the same time Whitman Mayo, a casting agent, not even an actor, was at the studio looking for parts for his clients. A fellow casting agent who met with Whitman apart from the show, approached him with the idea of playing the role of "Grady" on Sanford and Son. Whitman told him "I am not an actor, and I don't want to be an actor". But was talked into doing a screen casting anyway. To his surprise, he was immediately approached with the role. He was not interested, but accepted the role after talking to his business partner who reminded them they could use the money.
And Grady was born...

Jon Ratzenberger auditioned for the role of Norm Peterson in the series Cheers.
Knowing he wasn't going to be chosen, he approached the idea of a "bar know it all" character because "every local bar had at least one". They loved the idea.
Jon was responsible for the look and creation of the character, down to the white socks and slightly high water pants.
And Cliff Clavin came to fruition...

The cuchi cuchi girl herself..........

1970’s sitcom Soap is a forgotten classic

Another forgotten classic from the 70’s: Upstairs-Downstairs.

Downton Abbey plagiarized this show shamelessly, and wasn’t even 10% as good.
