There is a reason why in modern America, I guess the last 100 years, we had the lowest amount of homeless people, the least amount of drug problems, the least amount of shootings, the least amount of crime, and so on in general during the time periods of when most of America was white, Christian, and had American morals, values and standards. Once those things began to disappear we saw a steady increase in things like shootings and drugs.

Things have been on a decline for the past decade or two, but 40 years ago we didn't have nearly the amount of problems we do now. The only thing that has changed is our society. If we want things to be better all you have to do is look at everything that's changed since even 30 years ago and you'll have all the answers as to what's gone wrong. And the lack of faith in God is a major part in what's different.

Not my experience. My kids got a MUCH better education than I did. There was no one reason but overall, their education was first rate and they got their religious instruction outside the public school system, just as I did.
