Democrats’ attempt to hold oil executives “accountable” today is nothing but theatrics. High gas prices are a reality when you have a president who stifles domestic production and hands over our energy independence to the Russians

Oil Production by Country 2022 - World Population Review

In 2019 the US exported oil and gas.
In 2019 the US was energy independent
In 2021 Joe Biden declared war on oil

The US lost US energy independence thanks to Xiden's war on energy...

Yet oddly enough the US imported 39% more oil from Russia in 2019 than in 2018.
Hardly sounds energy independent
Oil gets purchased far in advance to guarantee prices and supply.
Those contracts happen regardless of what the oil market does in the short term
The simple fact is that the US exported more than it imported, hence the "energy independent" claim.

The reason gas prices are going up is because the oil's in Louisiana and Texas and Kansas and Alaska and Oklahoma and the dipsticks are in DC

Trump made America kick butt...Biden is kicking America's butt

Tis a false claim no matter who makes it. If we do not control the price of oil, we are not energy independent

It is cheaper to import Russian oil to the west coast because of logistics. Much of the oil from the Trans-Alaska pipeline goes to Japan for the same reason.

Costs to export on foreign tankers was about $0.50 a barrel. Costs to move it to the US with American tankers required by law was about $5.00 a barrel years ago.

"energy independence" has nothing to do with the price.
"energy independence" is defined as:

This "unused permits" bullshit is nothing more than a Democrat talking point to hide the fact that Biden has screwed up American oil independence.

There is a lot more to getting oil to market than having a permit to extract it. The petroleum industry is one of the most regulated industries in the country and the Biden administration has used his power to put a kabosh on oil production.

I have a friend that lives in Pennsylvania. He own several hundred acres and there is oil in the ground under his property. He has one of those permits that Biden is talking about to extract the oil if he wants. He doesn't do it because it would be a low yield well. It would take oil being around $300/barrel to make it economically feasible to extract the oil.

Most of the oil extraction permits in the US are like that.

If we want to be energy independent all we have to do is do it. Like when Trump was President. During the last two years of his administration we produced more energy than we used.

Joe Potatohead fucked that up by kissing the ass of the Environmental Wackos. Shame! Shame on anybody that voted for him. We all knew he would fuck it up and he did.

It tis a myth, no matter how you define it. It is one of those things the party tells you to make you think they are amazing.

Maybe you can explain why oil production increased 31 percent in Biden's first year but only 21 percent during Trump's first year, when they both started at the same amount of production when they took office.
