I would believe that these terrorists represented only a small and very misled portion of the religion, if it weren't for all the video I see coming from the Middle East; crowds of thousands cheering at news of American deaths during 9/11, praying for our demise, crowds pulling dead U.S. contractors out of vehicles and dragging them through the streets in Iraq, Crowds cheering and desecrating dead Rangers in Somalia and the list goes on. I read english translations of Arabic newspapers everyday and read the op-eds and interviews with the "man on the street" in these Islamic countries and with all of that information and fact, it's impossible to believe that those people are the minority. If they truly are the minority, then the majority of muslims need to stay out of our way because they are part of the problem, in not policing their own.
The only time I hear U.S. Islamic leaders, speak against this so-called "minority" it's usually when they are afraid of public backlash. It comes off as more of a "Don't hurt me, I didn't do it" than a "How dare they desecrate my religion". If it looks like they have nothing to fear, they are silent. In other words, they condone it through their inaction.
