OH MY: Slain South Carolina Pastor & Senator Voted AGAINST Gay Marriage

KKK was the bad side of conservatism.

Nothing is even mentioned by the left, of how LBJ's Great Society spawned hundreds of ghettos across the country, and the resulting decay of those cities.
That ignores the ghettoes were already there and that white flight had begun a decade earlier. You are welcome to show how the Great Society did what you are suggesting. Your assertion is valueless, though.

Slavery preceded both (and all) political parties in this country; the KKK has never had a political affiliation; and all that other shit is cultural conservatism.

You got schooled on all this before, yet here you come again expecting different results.
That's so cute.

The democrats fought politically to restart the slave trade with Africa, and wanted to wxpand slavery into the new states...they then fought and killed to keep slavery. The President of the Confederacy, jefferson davis, was a racist democrat, the first grand wizard of the kkk, mathan bedford forrest was a democrat. Cultural conservatism is an actual relative term.....democrat conservatives before the 1960s suppprted slavery, jim crow and segragation.....Modern American Conservatives support conserving our founding principals of All Men are Created Equal...the Bill of Rights and the Const tution....

You assholes keep lying in order to smear republicans and modern conservatives....you are vile assholes

You are a vile association fallacy freak with a bent for revisionist history.

The KKK

Following the Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan emerges to suppress and victimize newly freed slaves.

INTRODUCTION
Founded in 1866, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for blacks. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal–the reestablishment of white supremacy–fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s. After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor. The civil rights movement of the 1960s also saw a surge of Ku Klux Klan activity, including bombings of black schools and churches and violence against black and white activists in the South.

Bullshit. The Klan was founded in 1865 (Christmas Eve) -- not 1866, by six young Confederate war veterans. It had nothing to do with politics, though it was soon taken over by vigilantes bent on continuing the War. These vigilantes, looking for legitimacy, did hire Nathan (not Mathan) Bedford Forrest, a noted War general, to be its figurehead in 1867, but in less that two years Forrest said that element was getting out of hand and issued a proclaimation (January 1869) disbanding the organization. The vigilante element ignored the order and contiued ad hoc for another decade before going extinct.

And the second Klan of 1915 was founded not by "white Protestant nativist groups" but by William Simmons, a salesman in Atlanta. Simmons hired on a PR team to propagate the Klan to other parts of the country outside the South, to the point where it counted one-third of the adult white male population of Indiana as members.

Speaking of Indiana, that state's Klan got a governor and Senator elected. Both Republicans. Meawhile, Colorado did the same thing -- again, both Republicans. Elsewhere the Klan was involved in getting governor Walton removed in Oklahoma for trying to drive the Klan out, and disrupting a political convention to stop the nomination of Senator Oscar Underwood of Alabama, who had denounced the Klan. Walton and Underwood were Democrats.

And Simmons? Once again, no known political affiliation.

Partisan hack.

The legacy of LBJ's Great Society is evident in any large city:

*60 percent of black children grow up in fatherless homes.

*800,000 black men are in jail or prison.

*70 percent of black babies are born to unwed mothers.

*Over 300,000 black babies are aborted annually.

*50 percent of new AIDS cases are in the black community.

They had no known political affiliation. They were months out of the Civil War -- everyday mundane politics wasn't as much a priority as, say, finding something to eat.

You see Shirley --- in the real world not everything is reduced simply to "Republican or Democrat".

Of course, feel free to go find me their voter registration cards.... hack.

Ku Klux Klan - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

The historian Elaine Frantz Parsons describes the membership:

Lifting the Klan mask revealed a chaotic multitude of antiblack vigilante groups, disgruntled poor white farmers, wartime guerrilla bands, displaced Democratic politicians, illegal whiskey distillers, coercive moral reformers, sadists, rapists, white workmen fearful of black competition, employers trying to enforce labor discipline, common thieves, neighbors with decades-old grudges, and even a few freedmen and white Republicans who allied with Democratic whites or had criminal agendas of their own. Indeed, all they had in common, besides being overwhelmingly white, southern, and Democratic, was that they called themselves, or were called, Klansmen.[42]
Historian Eric Foner observed:

In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party's infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.[43]

Interview with Nathan Bedford Forrest
To that end they worked to curb the education, economic advancement, voting rights, and right to keep and bear arms of blacks.[43] The Klan soon spread into nearly every southern state, launching a "reign of terror against Republican leaders both black and white. Those political leaders assassinated during the campaign included Arkansas Congressman James M. Hinds, three members of the South Carolina legislature, and several men who served in constitutional conventions."[44]

No, I mean that we spent days posting the info (with links), and posted it repeatedly. If you're too stupid to read, you obviously need more of that liberal education you've been getting.

So check the info that was posted (or look it up), and quit wasting our time by expecting the grownups to post facts that have already been established over and over to compensate for your lazy liberal ass.

What, you think I spend 24/7 on here reading every post?

Your point, loser. Onus is yours -- not mine.

Black family income is up dramatically.

More than a million and a half white men are in jail.

40 percent of white babies are born to unwed mothers.

Over 500,000 white babies are aborted annually.

50 percent of new AIDS cases are in the white community.

The rate of graduate degrees among blacks grow each year.

You fail. And you failed with your stats because you provide coincidence but not causality. Look up both words to get the meaning.

Riiiiiight that's why you had to take it to the SCOTUS because 63% of Americans support gay marriage? Your math doesn't add up. You people couldn't even get your own party to support gay marriage in California, arguably the most liberal state in the country. Over 70% of blacks voted to ban gay marriage and a majority of Hispanics joined them. They banned gay marriage and gays had to win a court case to overturn the will of the people. Ouch!!

"Johnson did sign the bill but it is evident to anyone who looks close enough that he did not do it for any reason other than political gain. As with his appointment of Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court. He explained his decision to a staff member by saying,"“Son, when I appoint a ****** to the court, I want everyone to know he’s a ******.”

First grand wizard of the kkk was nathan bedford forrest, racist democrat....

And notice how they call them Confederate war veterans...scrubbing their political affiliation...do you think if they were Republicans that they would fail to ever mention that?
It was mentioned above, doofus. KKK was conservative first, GOP and Dem second. Do you belong to a certain secret society that is into bed sheets?
You assholes support the racist democrat party, not me......
You are conflating then with now. The conservatives are now the far right hate wing of our GOP.

Gay's won a court case, barely, with a scathing rebuke from the dissenting justices. I'll just be standing over here not impressed. Good luck winning the hearts and minds of the people, FAIL!
63% of America is scathingly rebuking you, BL: they approve it.

Ouch!!
Yep, ouch to you. Your opinion does not matter. The polls do. And a majority o f blacks and Hispanics now support it as well. Stop living in thepast. The rest of us don't.
