I don’t see something happening with every pass in soccer. They often pass backwards—and a long way in a wide open field.

The average score in football still far exceeds soccer.

Hey, I like a good defensive game as much as the next guy, but not every single match-up. If the average number of soccer goals matched hockey, then I would watch. The American version of soccer is also boring because there is too much scoring. Ya need a good balance of offense and defense in any type game. Soccer does not have that.

As famous as their offensive players are, Brazil teams often won by smothering defense

I’m going to be spending a lot of time watching these games!
