every year I notice stories about paintings that are "stolen" then "found" later.
They tell us about how someone walked off with a masterpiece from a guarded museum, then the painting
turned up somewhere.
The whole idea doesn't make sense.
Is someone going to place the Mona Lisa on Craigslist?
either
1) These painting are being copied and the originals are placed in an archive somewhere.
or
2) These painting are being copied and the originals are hanging on some billionaire's wall.
