The Left never has to compromise. They just keep pushing till they get everything they want.

Case in point is abortion. The Left pretended to be bent out of shape about Roe vs. Wade going away, but as soon as it did the Left offerred up Constitutional amendments to each state that essentially took away all restrictions for abortion. Now it is just between the woman and her doctor essentially, even with partial birth abortion. Had the Left voted on partial birth abortion directly, it would never have passed, but this way they got people to vote for the amendment on the premise it would be just like Roe vs. Wade, which it is not.

Now since Roe has been overturned, there are now more abortions than before Roe, but the Left has convinced the average moron voter that it is just the opposite. Now they have their cake and eat it too as abortion is now more liberal than ever, and at the same time convincing the voter that to get their abortion rights back they need to elect democrats.

You're just making crap up, another reason why it's useless to attempt negotiation with Republicans. They will always lie about everything, so there's no point in engaging with them as if they were reasonable trustworthy humans.

For example, the Ohio measure specfically allowed restrictions after fetal viablity, but Votto lies openly and claims it allows "partial-birth abortions".
