I was passively participating in this thread: Is trump of sound mind?

Apparently, I entered a number of posts that were considered "off topic" which were all removed. I was then banned from the thread. Just for the fun of it, I went through the entire thread and found that about 50% of the remaining posts by other members were also "off topic" but those posts all remain.

Would it be fair to assume that I am the target of someone's personal vendetta? Someone, perhaps, that doesn't share my ideology?

Just trying to get a feel for how the moderation system actually works. Is it a fair system that treats each member equally or are mods with a particular political leaning free to pick and choose who they moderate?

Asking for a friend.

It's possible, moderators are not AI (yet) and perhaps you pissed one off in a previous life. Sometimes you roll with it, it's best not to take all of this too seriously.

Of course, if your posts were as consistently excellent and informative as all of mine are, you might not be experiencing these problems.

I suffer similarly .
Although naturally I believe any small amount Paranoia is well founded .
The mark of Sanity .

I assume that Mods are neither paid or especially qualified , and that therefore they will make lots of mistakes and sometimes deliberately--- unconscious bias is the most charitable verdict .
So I simply ignore them 100% , in the same way that they would inevitably ignore me if I "discussed" matters with them .
I have been banned several times for absurd reasons , imho , so I sensibly get on with real life rather than let Virtual Reality bother me .

They are our own Langley scriptwriters -- best totally ignored .

Can't say that I've ever been thread banned but as much as I don't care for social media platforms, and I've successfully avoided joing them for years, I've been considering twitter account lately myself.

That way one can at least be America first and discuss the critical issues of the day in a civil, fruitway way first without being called some kind of terrorist or muslim or whatever. It's a game to those types of low-value posters. That's basically how it is on here any more. Consistently very low-value dialogue in that regard.ace gets tiring. Same stuff every day. Seems like it's becoming Hasbara central lately, too.

And that's likely what is going on, youre probably beeing mass reported by that gang.

You kow how that goes...

Heck, I can't recall posting in any serious way around here in a few years since the dialogue and topical content has degraded so badly.

These, the types I reference, are not serious people who carry themselves in that way, nor are they sincere, in my view.

And that's only started happening over the last couple of years as the forum is known to historically provide platforms to those types who have been banned from every other forum on the www, but it's gotten rather routine, every single day now that they've become comfortable and feel safe. Almost to the point of mirroring a hate site if you really pay attention to how they cary themselves and respond to anyone interested stimulating any sort of actual cvil, fruitful dialogue/debate.

As I said, it just get tiring. Same crap every day from the same people.

If you find that you're surrounded by people who really aren't your people, best to move on and be around people who are.

Used to be an okay board, though, before everybody elses rejects from around the www moved in and set up camp.

Heck. I coud get banned right now and wouldn't give a flying donut either way.

Meh . . ..webp
