Once again, an armed bystander with a concealed-carry license has stopped a crime in progress and possibly saved a woman’s life.

Authorities say a Georgia man who spotted an attempted carjacking at a Smyrna car wash pulled his pistol and ran toward danger, shooting the would-be thief in the shoulder.

According to WMAZ-TV news, the woman whose car was being stolen threw herself on the vehicle to try to stop the crime. That’s when the driver reportedly sped up and tried to make his getaway with the woman clinging to the hood.

The gun-toting Good Samaritan who foiled the carjacking turned out to be a City of Smyrna employee who’s being hailed as a hero for stopping the crime in progress and holding the wounded suspect until police arrived.
