None of the math adds up, and his only strategy is to tax job creators in order to stagnate the economy. I don't know about anyone else here but I never had a poor man offer me a job. The libs are dancing in the streets because they're stuck on stupid. After watch this guy in action over the last two years I can only conclude that his goal is to bankrupt the USA. You would think everyone paying the same tax for every dollar they make would mean everyone paying "their fair share". But that has never been the case in our country. Instead the bottom feeders pay zero taxes, and the wealthy pay much more tax per dollar than everyone else.

Government does need taxes in order to operate. The problem is most of our Federal government isn't actually about "governing" a nation anymore. Its mostly about welfare and entitlement programs.

Conservatives don't have a problem with taxing in order to maintain a nation and govern it. Tax in order to pay for our court system, for our military, and for the legislative branch to do its business. The rest of it is a waste of taxes.

Some government is necessary to ensure the protection of individual rights.

the private sector economy is largely based on property rights. If there was no protection of property rights it would be quite impossible to have a thriving private sector.

Even while he is saying all the things we who are leaning left want to hear he is also signing new FREE TRADE agreements with Korea.

Even while he was voted in by people hoping for single payer universal HC, his compromise solution benefits private HC insurers more than anybody else.

Even while he was voted in by people hopeing for an end to our Asian wars of empire, he has ratched up our military presense there

Even while he was voted in by people expecting GITMO to close it remains open.

Even while he was voted in by people who loathe the Patriot act he does nothing to end it.

Even while he was voted in by people who clearly object to the wildly out of line income distribution, he is failing to do much about it.

I could go on and on and on about how Obama's policies are essantially, --when it comes to the ONLY things that matters...economic policies and foreign interventions -- REPUBLICAN LITE.

You may see this guy as being significantly different (certainly his rhetoric is) , but in the larger picture to most of us on the left who are POLICY DRIVEN thinkers, Obama is nothing more than a slightly more personally palatable version of Bush II.
