You know, back when the first video came out I jumped in the thread and that this crosses the line, etc. Then it turned out that the parents had read the lyrics and gave their go ahead for the kids to participate and it was all a bunch of faux outrage drummed up by FOX News.
So forgive me if I don't take this latest, "ZOMG they're indoctrinating the children," thread seriously.
And don't treat me like I'm naive ... putting Obama in the thread title wasn't an accident and it implies that this happening because of him.
It's more nonsense trying to drum up fear about the administration and it goes right along with the wing nut theme that Obama is a dictator.
But you know what? If in 4 or 8 years when the time comes for Barack to leave and we don't have a smooth transition of power like we've had every time since our nations birth I will be one of the first to hit DC and make sure he's forced out.
" putting Obama in the thread title wasn't an accident and it implies that this happening because of him. "
Do you want to re-read what you wrote: of course it's happening because of him.
There is in this administration a new level, if not kind, of gutter-level thugginess, and if you do not see how it encourages over the bounds behavior in all areas, then I guess you are naive.
"This is the moment when the rise of the oceans begin to slow and our planet beg[ins] to heal. "
-an excerpt from Obama's victory speech
"In late August, the Obama campaign emailed an "Obama Action Wire" to thousands of supporters and liberal activists exhorting them to harass the offices of Chicago's WGN radio by flooding the station with angry phone calls and emails. Activists screamed insults to call-in screeners. "

"After the Democratic convention, Obama campaign lawyer Robert Bauer warned TV stations against airing a TV ad that was embarrassing to Barack Obama. The commercial focused on the longtime relationship between Obama and Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers. Bauer sent letters to the Justice Department imploring the agency to pursue criminal action against those behind the ads. It was not lost on anyone at that time that Bauer was considered a candidate to be the next U.S. Attorney-General."
And-
"A few weeks later, state prosecutors and top sheriffs in Missouri who were prominent Obama supporters responded to a chilling Obama campaign request. They styled themselves as a "truth squad" and threatened to prosecute anyone including media outlets that printed or broadcasted material they deemed to be inaccurate about the Illinois Senator. "
And-
"Democratic Ohio state officials scoured government data bases and confidential records in an effort to find embarrassing information on "Joe the Plumber" (e.g., he is divorced) that quickly found its way into the press. "
And-
"On Election Day, Senator Chuck Schumer likened conservative talk radio to pornography and argued it should be regulated. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi endorsed speech restrictions more than once during the election season. Senators Harry Reid, Dick Durbin and John Kerry have also advocated various limits to political speech. Senator Debbie Stabenow assured a liberal radio talk show host that regulating conservative speech is imminent."
Or do you agree with this:
" The public looks for leaders who are large-minded rather than petty and peevish, who engage in public arguments rather than in personal attacks, who want to solve problems rather than settle scores. Tone and approach are important not simply for the aesthetics of politics but also because of what they reveal about a person's predisposition and attitude, temperament and spirit.
President Obama's war on Fox News -- being carried out by him and his top aides -- is so unwise. One of the attractions of Obama during the election -- one of his attractions to me, who wrote favorably about him several times -- was his tone and countenance, his apparent interest in a serious engagement with issues, and his professed allergy to politics practiced by those who are bitter and brittle. We should, he said, "resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long." He went on to say, "I will listen to you, especially when we disagree." All impressive and high-minded sentiments. And all, apparently, a ruse."

You must, of course, see the pattern endorsed, promulgated by this administrartion, and if you decline to condemn it, then as Theodore Roosevelt said of William McKinley, you have “no more backbone than a chocolate éclair.”
