This is called rationalization. This is what people do when their world view doesn't comport with reality or to put it simply "in what world could a black person be more intelligent, more accomplished and more successful than a white person"? The only way this could be is to allegedly have lowered the standards.
Just shy of 1000 African American men and women were part of the Tuskegee Airmen experiement in the segregated U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and although the powers that be fully intended them to fail in their endevours, they not only succeeded but their prowess as the Red Tail fighter pilots and bomber escorts brought them fame, only to return home to a country where they were still legally relegated to 2nd class citizenry. An important item of note is that they achieved all that they did they did close to 2 decades prior to the passage fo the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the implementation of the affirmative action program, which did not legislatively give blacks an advantage, contrary to the beliefs of many uninformed whites, but instead provided a civil cause of action for anyone suffering discrimination as a result of their protected class status. A fact that is apparently also unknown is white women have traditionally been the largest beneficiaries of the affirmative action program.
It's bad enough when an entire race of people are consdiered to be of inferior intelligence resulting in less success but when white poeple attempt to lambast the African American race they do so as a member of a class of people who legislatively gave themselves every advantage for success possible while simultaneously denying the same opportunities to the black race. And yet black people are still making headway working with the handicaps that you all legislated and some of you are still complaining.
Whether you acknowledge it or not, if you're an average white person, there are a lot of black people who are equally or better educated/prosperous than you are. My grandfather and his fellow Tuskegee airmen are just some of them in spite of the social/economic disadvantages that were written into law against black people. And no one is taking anything from you all, you were never entitled to everything in the first place.
