I always read these kinds of books, if I read them at all, with a healthy dose of skepticism. Ever since Katy Kelley amassed a small fortune writing unauthorized biographies of famous people, I tend to distrust a lot of the scholarship. Especially that which cannot be confirmed by any other source.

There is simply too much leeway for the author to insert his/her own opinion or point of view or an impression he/she wants the reader to have, all that departs from good journalism. That is what so corrupts most so called journalism in America and elsewhere in the world today.
