Obama Claims unemployment Dropped To 7.8%

The RNC will find the truth.. They probably already have it. It will be out just before the debate so Romney can use it against him when he takes control of the moderator and speaks his mind.

Jack Welch said there is no way with roughly 1.5% growth in the economy that you could get the biggest jump in employment since 1983, over 800,000 jobs Obama just pulled out of his ass. He said the only way would be if the economy was growing at over 4.5%. He said the numbers don't jib with everything else.

It's impossible with such a weak economy.

However...one thing to keep in mind.....why the hell is ANYONE celebrating even a 7.8% unemployment rate? Liberals slammed Bush for a having a rate that was roughly 4% (which BTW was lower than Clinton's rate) but they are celebrating an artificial 7.8% that is a result of mathematical anomalies?!?!? Jesus H Christ on a string...talk about low standards.

Joseph Stiglitz appeared on 'Up w/ Chris Hayes' to discuss the jobs report released on Friday. Several prominent conservative figures, including former GE CEO Jack Welch, have accused the Obama administration of skewing the numbers to appear in its favor.

"No president, maybe except Nixon, would actually try to change what the Bureau Labor Statistics does or what the DEA does. These are really independent agencies and the idea that they would do that is literally absurd," Stiglitz said.

Stiglitz said the only thing that presidents can do is explain the numbers and put them in context of larger economic tides.

"You don't monkey with the numbers because that would destroy your credibility," he said.

Friday's report showed that unemployment had fallen to 7.8% after 114,000 jobs were added last month.

Although some Republican politicians and conservative commentators have questioned the accuracy of the figures, officials deny any wrongdoing.

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis told CNBC that it's "really ludicrous" to suggest that BLS manipulated the data.
