Yes, and those in the DNC side were just regular DEMOCRATS.
Those in the GOP side were RINOS working with Democrats.

The GOP invented the RINO class of politician to give into the Dems and appease them with the opinion that being fair would work both sides towards the middle.
But all it ever did was work the GOP over to the Dem's side.

The Dems have no such animal. They stick together, never budge an inch, and shoot anyone who tries to abdicate.
McCain was the Dems perfect Repub: he never stuck to party, always gave ground, and praised his opponents. He literally SOLD the nation on voting for Obama.
He was his party's worst enemy.
