And yet another milestone by President Donald Trump. DJIA closed over 50,000 for the first time in history. Is there any limit to the greatness this man can achieve? The DOW has risen a whopping 17% since Election Day, 2024 while inflation has dropped, and prices have dropped. The left said it couldn't be done, but here we are.

So much for recession talk.
So much for the claim that tariffs have failed.
So much for the claim Trump didn't know what he was doing.

This is a day for massive celebration. (The past year has been full of them, it seems).

President Trump essentially bought my wife and me a brand new 2025 Toyota RAV 4 (Ruby Pearl). We are so grateful to this great man.

That just tells me that the stock market is overvalued, and due for a major correction.

What is any of this based on?

the markets have been shrinkflated too---you have to pay more to get less.

I remember the first time seeing and learning about the DJA (below $1,000) in high school business and economics class, during the late 70's.

I wonder if High Schools even offer those classes anymore.

I’m sure they don’t. The left doesn’t want kids to learn basic economics. Knowledge turns people into Republicans.

Payrolls growth continues to rise in the new year, according to Bank of America internal data. "At the same time, the rise in unemployment payments seen in our data has leveled off and is showing signs of declining," the bank said in a report on Feb. 6. "Taken together, we think this paints an encouraging picture at the start of 2026."

Will corporate earnings remain strong?

Jeff Buchbinder, chief equity strategist at LPL Financial, said in commentary on Feb. 5 an improving manufacturing outlook gives him confidence in "corporate America’s ability to grow earnings at a double-digit pace for at least the next two quarters, and probably longer."

Strong earnings will drive more stock market gains this year, he said.

There ya go. When will you just come out and admit President Trump has been 100% right and his leftwing "economist" detractors have been laughably wrong?

Per AI:
Less than half of U.S. high schools offer comprehensive financial literacy courses, leaving many students without foundational knowledge of the stock market, investing, or personal finance. While over 80% of adults wish they had learned these skills, systemic factors like underfunding and rigid curricula prioritize traditional subjects over financial education. Only about 30 states currently mandate financial education, often resulting in a reliance on social media for investment information.

Maybe AI is wrong on this. I know it was taught in my schools in KY and FL because I ******* taught the damn course! ******* amateurs!

I retired in 2018. Two of my grandkids are still in school and one graduated last year. I keep up, unlike some people on this board who haven't been in a school since they were hurled into the street for being 18 in middle school.
I quoted a source, so...

No, you quoted AI which might not understand the difference in economics and financial literacy classes. One of my classes was called American Government, of which economics was the second half. In another state, economics was another class entirely. It all depends on the specific school curriculum as to where it is taught.

Most aren’t teaching it.

I just did with my AI link. All you have are anecdotes from years ago. Maybe you can show us a link that says "the majority of schools teach about the stock market".
How about the fact that I taught the ******* course dipshit? I am my own reference telling you it is part of the curriculum and standards for social studies in just about every state.

AI is useless for reference purposes as the old garbage in - garbage out saying tells you. For example, an AI search will tell you that homeschooled students do better on standardized tests also because that's what HSLDA will tell you, even though their data and methods are flawed. AI cannot determine that. It just samples the internet and comes up with what it "thinks" is the correct answer.
