Zechariah 5: 6-10 Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof [is] twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. Then said he unto me, This [is] the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off [as] on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off [as] on that side according to it. I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, Look up and see what this is that is appearing. I asked What is it? He replied It is a measuring basket. And he added, This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land. Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! He said,This is wickedness and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the lead cover down over its mouth. Then I looked up-and there before me were two women with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth. Where are they taking the basket? I asked the angel who was speaking to me. He replied, To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set in its place.

A Jewish brother said,

The word for Basket is 'ephah' which is a container over 30 feet in length and nearly 5 feet in diameter.

Now as to the woman in the basket, the word for woman in Hebrew is Isha. According to the angel the woman in the ephah is "wickedness." Well, it doesn't make any sense until you see that the word "woman" is a mistranslation.

It is not a woman that is in the ephah but a fire. Same in verse nine. There are not two
women but two fires.

The word for fire offering is Aisha. It has the same consonants as Isha. For centuries the Hebrew manuscripts came from a Karaite Mesorah (received text) and there was a hirik (dot) underneath the letter aleph, the same letter for both Isha and Aisha. It is in every Hebrew text I own. The context must be employed to makes sense of it all.

This is the wickedness. It is an evil fire offering (aisha).

What is the significance of the lead cover? Well in nuclear missile, noncritical masses of
Uranium-235 is encased in lead, is it not?

Is this is a possible nuclear device being discussed in this passage?

Look up at the first few verses of chapter 5. We have a flying "roll" or megillah in Hebrew. That means it is something that is cylindrical in shape. It is flying. It is 20 cubits by 10 cubits. The same dimensions as the ephah. It is a curse that effects the whole earth. Earth is rendered eretz. Could it be a reference to Israel? It is common parlance among Jews to refer to Israel as simply "the Land." It consumes houses, stones, and timbers. It quite destructive, obviously.

The two fires could be a reference to a two-stage nuclear blast! Not sure on that one. My understanding of the science of nuclear weapons is woefully limited.

This might be a nuclear war or something,

Great, tell everyone that nuclear weapons are in the Bible and you will never get them to open it to read it.

Then what?

Sure, I'll just open my Bible today........

Could it refer to the two Nuclear Bombs dropped on Japan in World War 2?
Isaiah 25:4, "For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall." The nuclear blast ended all fascist attacks for good against the tribe of Judah of Israel allowing the city to reopen, Jerusalem. A shadow from the atomic bomb left x-ray's of things like stairwells imprinted on walls of buildings both Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. While causing approximately a total of 214,000 deaths, it prevented millions of Japanese deaths and a high number of American deaths if we instead swarmed Japan like we did with D-day in Europe. It also said to communist Russia and other fascist and communist dictatorships, don't mess with America. If America succumbs to the fascist and communists of the Democrat Party today, the world will plunge into massive war to usher in the Millennium and the return of Christ in all his glory.

I don’t know about nuclear war as much damage is done to the land so people will not be able to feed themselves but Zachariah 14:12 has unfortunately some interesting look to it.. Frankly the way technology is developing and the way people are behaving who knows but Israel is a very small country surrounded by enemies they would not try to damage their own population but aggressors that come against them is another story..

Not sure about IRAN. There leaders hate others in the region for siding and working with Israel. Seems like a nuclear bomb would do the job of riding the region of all infidels including their own Muslim brotherhood.

nuclear weapons in the Bible, really?

Actually there are symptoms described in Zechariah chapter fourteen that fit with a burst of either either ultra low frequency sound waves or low frequency radio waves, [ I can't remember which ones that it was].

And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will smite all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh shall rot while they are still on their feet, their eyes shall rot in their sockets, and their tongues shall rot in their mouths. 13;And on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that each will lay hold on the hand of his fellow, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other; 14;even Judah will fight against Jerusalem. And the wealth of all the nations round about shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance. 15;And a plague like this plague shall fall on the horses, the mules, the camels, the asses, and whatever beasts may be in those camps." [Zechariah 14]

... My understanding of the science of nuclear weapons is woefully limited ...

So is mine, but I do know nuclear weapons leave behind clear and convincing evidence of their use ... before July 16th, 1945, the Solar System was completely free of Cesium-135 ... since that date, everything manufactured on Earth is contaminated by this nuclide ... especially steel ...

We can test the paints on old painting to see if it's a contemporary forgery ... it's impossible to get paint without some Cesium-135 in it ... and the test is super easy although quite expensive ...

This is based on the Old Earth belief system ... as we need these few extra billion years for this to work ... any nuclear detonations within the past 10,000 years would be easily determined and dated ... but there's nothing until the Trinity Test in Nevada ...

Yes. I was going to post this Scripture.

This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths
