750cc made it faster than the 650cc BSA and Triumphs. All were eclipsed by the Honda 4cyl CB750 in 1969.

People will stop and look at a Norton, because they look so cool.
They were one of the fastest bikes of their time.

Coolest is the Norton "Combat" Commando. 1972 only I believe. In 73 I was $400 short of buying the dealers own Combat.
