I think the WW2 Germans developed on of those. Not sure if it worked but it made for a good movie...

German flying wing fighter flew and worked well. Hitler put it on the back burner to focus on a larger bomber version. It was for a one way mission to the US east coast carrying the nukes he was working on.

Northrop folks rebuilt the German fighter. Radar testing showed it was rather stealthy. It’s in San Diego.

This looks exactly like similar planes in the 40s and 50s.
