ā€˜A decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Friday will bar the deployment of the California National Guard in Los Angeles—for now, according to the attorney general's office.

ā€œThe Ninth Circuit’s decision means that, come Monday, there will be no National Guard troops deployed in California. Let me repeat: For the first time in six months, there will be no military deployed on the streets of Los Angeles,ā€ said California Attorney General Rob Bonta in a news release.

The Ninth Circuit issued a partial administrative stay in the ongoing court battle between California leaders and President Donald Trump over control of the state's National Guard troops. The attorney general's office explained that the stay means the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California’s order barring the deployment of California National Guard troops in Los Angeles will remain in effect for now.

However, the stay also pauses the second part of the order, returning federalized California National Guard troops to Gov. Gavin Newsom's command. "While this decision is not final, it is a gratifying and hard-fought step in the right direction," Bonta said. "There is no crisis to justify the National Guard’s continued presence, and we look forward to continuing to prove that in court.ā€ā€™

ā€œThere is no crisis to justify the National Guard’s continued presenceā€¦ā€

Correct.

The fear, racism, bigotry, and hate of conservatives with regard to immigration is not a ā€˜crisis.’

The unwarranted deployment of the National Guard is a waste of time and resources.

Well, that's some good news for all illegals and criminals.

I know one Attorney General who is going to be a disappointed puppy on Monday . . .

Once federalized there is only one Commander in Chief, the judiciary has no Constitutional say on that matter.

So, Trump's Federal military occupation of that city, not under any kind of emergency, will end?

It will end for now until a higher court overrules this judge.
"For Now", is good enough for the moment. Can fascist militaristic control over populations, not in emergency situations, return? Maybe. Do you want it in your town? I doubt it. Does it make you UnAmerican or a threat to America, if you don't want it? No. I could not blame you. Most towns, most citizens do not want to live in a military ruled police state, and do not want to see it, put in place, one city at a time, certainly not in their own city.

Obviously there is no emergency in Los Angeles, certainly not, due to immigration enforcement. If there were, there would be mounting injuries to law enforcement as well as protestors, local law enforcement could not deal with, along with mounting property damage, due to violent protests. But that simply is not the case and has not been the case. A simple search question reveals, that in the entire year of 2025 there have only been 3 ICE agents injured while on duty in Los Angeles. When the question is expanded to include all law enforcement officers, injured in protests, during the year, the answer becomes 7. When asked "How many protestors and journalist have been injured in Los Angeles by ICE Agents, this year? The answer becomes 17 protestors and 50 journalists, 575 protestors arrested over the year. The biggest danger, percentagewise, is to be a journalist covering the action of law enforcement. We all saw the journalist across the street from ICE, facing her camera reporting live, and the ICE agent purposely drawing, aiming, and tasered her in the back from 20 feet away in the middle of her reporting. Search assistant noted:
  • Specific Incidents:
    • Several journalists were struck by projectiles, including rubber bullets and tear gas canisters.
    • One journalist required emergency surgery after being hit by a projectile.
ICE and Law Enforcement can obviously handle protests without the military, as that is what they are paid to do. And, there is not a single on scene journalist requesting military protection.

Which city is the military "occupying"
In 2025, over 4,000 California National Guard troops were initially deployed to Los Angeles for immigration operations, although the number had decreased to several hundred by late October. A federal judge later ordered the administration to return control of the troops to the state.

ICE is not tasked with handling protests, but with that assistance of law enforcement, they can go about their duties while law enforcement handles the protesters who turn into rioters by assaulting and interfering with federal law enforcement.

Unless the protesters/rioters become to numerous and too violent for state and local law enforcement to handle, and the riotors prevent federal agents from doing their work. That situation provided for in the Insurrection Act allowing for the president to federalize national guard units to protect those federal officers.

It's down to less than 2,000. You think these 2,000 National Guardsmen are "occupying" the city of 4 million? Really?

So, like you said, but obviously not the case in L.A.

That is difficult, if not imposdible to judge from media reports. The commander in chief has better sources of information about that.

Well I guess we will wait and see of they can prove that in court

By the time they get around to it, Trump will likely have the mess cleaned up

2,000 troops? 4 battalion armed strength? Hell, yes, that would qualify! How many battalions do you want moved into your town?

1/2000 of the population, so in my town that would be about 3 and half soldiers

Yes we can handle that here

My town doesn't have thousands of illegals running loose.
