I think this is going to be a special season for Bills fans :)

Great matchups. Old rivals matched up. The coaches will be playing some old NFL films to get them revved up.

Here is a chart I just finished making:

wildcard weekend.jpg

Steelers, what a funky ride. Broken, beaten, bankrupt, all they needed to do was beat the Ravens, but with the impossible task never will happen of the last place hapless Jaguars to beat out over the Colts! And for Raiders and Chargers NOT to tie, something that rarely ever happens.

  • Then it takes the Steelers going into OT to finally kick a FG near end of OT to beat the Ravens!

  • Then the impossible happens, the Jaguars absolutely CRUSH the Colts.

  • But then the unthinkable happened: the Chargers came from behind to TIE THE GAME as the game clock ran out, then both scored again tying in OT! A couple of 4th down conversions, 4 and 21, but in the final seconds of OT literally, in the very last gasp of opportunity a full 5 hours after the Steelers won, the Raiders finally kick a FG in OT beating the Chargers and securing the wildcard for the Steelers!
But of course, now the broken and bankrupt Steelers have to go to Kansas City to play the Chiefs. No chance they could upset one of the best teams in football!

Or could they? Stranger things have happened.

Dallas at home over SF is my money pick .

This is how it is all going down:

NFC:

Cowboys take SanFran
Bucs beat Phili
Rams take the Cards.

Green Bay beats the Rams
Bucs beat the Cowboys.

Green Bay beats the Bucs.

AFC

KC takes the Steelers
Pats beat the Bills
Bengals take the Raiders.

Titans beat the Pats
KC beats the Bengals.

SUPERBOWL

Green Bay takes KC giving Aaron Rogers his big retirement sendoff.

The Steelers have managed to do worse than they "should have" in virtually every game this year. The events of 1/9 that got them into the playoffs were so bizarre that no fiction writer would dare throw them together - not possible.

But the NFL playoffs are nothing if not unpredictable.

At the start of Sunday yesterday, the Steelers only had a 4% chance of making it into the playoffs. By midnight they were in.

The only tie this year was the Steelers at home against the Lions.
So really the new 17 game season kept them alive.
