From reading her history in the wiki? It sounds like the only reason she moved to Maryland, is because she is part of Kamala Harris' Team.

Before that, it looks like she had been living in California since 2009. She has a whole hell of a lot more experience for the job than I thought he was going to find, so, that's a good thing.
