New York's 27th Congressional District

New York's 27th Congressional District is located in the western portion of the state and includes Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming counties and areas of Erie, Monroe, Niagara and Ontario counties.[2]
The 27th Congressional District seat is currently vacant. It was last held by Republican Rep. Chris Collins, who resigned on October 1, 2019.[3]
Following the 2016 election, this district was one of 105 congressional districts that intersected with one or more Pivot Counties. These 206 Pivot Counties voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016 after voting for Barack Obama (D) in 2008 and 2012.
The 206 Pivot Counties are located in 34 states. Iowa, with 31, had the most such counties. The partisan makeup of the 109 congressional districts intersecting with Pivot Counties was more Republican than the partisan breakdown of the U.S. House following the 2016 election. Of the 109 congressional districts that had at least one Pivot County, 64 percent were held by a Republican incumbent, while 55.4 percent of U.S. House seats were won by a Republican in the 2016 elections.[4]

Comment:
The GOP held this District in 2018 by just over 1,000 votes. Last night? Well... just look.
Remember when the media said every special election spelled DOOOOOOM for the GOP in 2018? Notice that there is NOTHING about this anywhere. The biased media is silent. It's obvious that the latest chaos in cities financed by the DNC and the far Left have influenced this election. This is a portent of things to come in the November election.
The typical "concerned" trolls that liked to come on here and post various GOP special election losses for dog catcher in a random Blue State are SILENT when we have a result like this. This was a 38 point win in a swing district and the media is SILENT.

Uhh...what "bias" are you looking for here? This isn't a "swing" district by any stretch of the imagination. I've commented on this district in another post. It's the quintessential example of gerrymandering. It avoids the city spaces of both Rochester and Buffalo.
Jeez, the link even says it's 93% white. So Republicans did well in a district that they should have held anyway...sorry. No news here.

You're correct in the fact that voting districts in Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester are gerrymandered so that Democrats remain in power throughout the state.
I've lived in the Southern Tier for 20 years and know the facta. It's like Tompkins County where no Republican can be elected because of the Gerrymandering.
