My father and several uncles came home from WW2, got jobs, got married and raised kids and didn`t spend the rest of their lives saying "pity me because I was in a war zone". PTSD is a recent invention. In my 35 years in a steel mill, 9 men and one woman were killed but the rest of us continued to work in that virtual war zone. No one claimed PTSD.

I know very little about my city council's actions, let alone anything about New York City's.

But the city council in NYC was elected by the people, so presumably they share the view of their representatives that everything should be done for the unauthorized migrants.
