Someone with a $29.99 T-Mobile Basic plan with 300 minutes pays $6.95 in taxes monthly, a rate of 23.18 percent, 2 percentage points above the typical city bill.

We had a family plan and it was ridiculous what we were being charged and that 20% of the bill were taxes. We weren't using all the minutes and they were simply being wasted. Now I have a Tracfone and my minutes aren't thrown out and I don't have to pay all the garbage tax.

Most people don't fuss about their cellphone charges. They just pay them every month. That's the mistake. Maybe this should be an issue at the Tax Day Tea Party as well...

They tax the shit out of us and force us to get 2 jobs each to survive, kids grow up by themselves, but to keep in touch we basically need cells so now they tax the hell out of them and we need a third job.
They get new cars, raises, trips etc and dont pay their taxes!
