Thanks to the increasing disparity in wealth, and the obvious racism and bigotry of the right, Guthrie's songs now have an increasing relevance. Old favorites, and some that few have heard. Songs from hard times to remind us of what is important.

I don't recall him singing about multimillionaire Congresspeople who just keep spending so they can keep making commissions

Did he sing about the horrific damage of exiting the Gold Standard?

Lefties ridiculed Hank and Waylon and Jones for years. My guess they don't like commie Guthrie's songs any better but they think the political message will resonate. Ho hum.
