If I was the GOP, I'd be worried about question 5 where 18 percent of respondents said they were "Strong Republican" while 25 percent said "Strong Democrat".
Question 8 only offers Republicans three choices to choose from for their top priority: taxes, gay marriage/abortion, or strong defense. This is the question the OP link chose to headline.
However, in subsequent questions, respondents were able to choose from a wider variety of issues, and government spending (question 10B) came out as the winner for being people's top issue, with the national debt (question 10A) coming in a close second.
