New Mexico Voted for Biden; Now Regrets Oil, Gas Suspension

New Mexico Voted for Biden; Now Regrets Oil, Gas Suspension (breitbart.com)
24 Jan 2021 ~~ By Joel B. Pollak

The State of New Mexico voted for Joe Biden in November, sending its five electoral votes to the Democratic candidate. Yet today the state is alarmed by newly-inaugurated President Biden’s 60-day suspension of oil and gas leasing.
As Breitbart News reported, Biden’s call during the campaign to “transition [away] from the oil industry” caused alarm in New Mexico, leading then-Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM) to distance herself from Biden’s position. She would go on to lose to Republican Yvette Herrell in the race to represent the state’s second congressional district. As Breitbart News noted at the time, New Mexico is “among the top ten energy-producing states in the U.S. It has 7% of U.S. oil reserves and is the third-largest oil-producing state, enjoying rapid growth in recent years.” Yet the state voted for Biden, regardless.
Today, many are expressing regret, as the Associated Press reported Jan. 22:

Comment:
Anyone in the fossil fuel industry should know that China Joey Xi is coming after their jobs. If they voted for him, they should wear it and not gripe and moan.
Amazingly, "everyday Democrat Sheep" think that their leaders would never do anything to hurt THEM. Well, they are about to learn the hard truth with each one of them that loses their job, and every time they go to the gas pump, turn on the lights in their homes and heat their homes.
Then there's the rise in taxes he's proposing:
This does not include the insane move of the release of all incarcerated illegal aliens ready for deportation.
I have friends in New Mexico. They're THRILLED with Biden. Breitbart on the other hands is well:

  • Overall, we rate Breitbart Questionable based on extreme right-wing bias, the publication of conspiracy theories and propaganda as well as numerous false claims.
You don’t have any friend and especially not in New Mexico where he is about to bankrupt multiple small businesses. Buyers remorse.
Give us some names, Azog. What small businesses in New Mexico are depending on the Keystone Pipeline and how many people do they employ?
How about the natural gas dependent industries in and about Lovington, NM. They won't be earning much if there is no gas.
The natural gas wells in Lovington, New Mexico were not shut down. Keystone pipeline carries crude to refineries, not natural gas, and like I said a (and you can verify with the Keystone pipeline map) the Keystone pipeline is hundreds of miles away and does not get near that state.

Minimum wage in NM is $10.50. Now you’re increasing it $15.00. But no...nothing to see here. I mean how dishonest can you be?
Sounds like a recipe for disaster--kill off one of the best paying industries in the state while increasing the minimum wage on Mom and Pops. Mom and Pop fail due to no business. No business means no jobs. Climb on the hamster wheel. Everyone becomes a ward of the state.
Add more oil to the market now and you will kill domestic production.

Buyers remorse will pale in comparison to Biden Remorse.

HA!

LET THEM EAT COAL !!!
When America fails we all fail you nimrod. Why do partisans always hope the opposition president does a terrible job?
Bidens BEHAVIOR guarantees he will fail.

Why should we accept policies we KNOW will fail?

Why should we hope for him to be "successful"?

The Keystone pipeline is irrelevant to NM--why even bring it up. Gas and oil leases that were closed on federal land by Biden's XO however affect NM tremendously.

Who are you kidding. Fuel better not rise then.
You can bet the farm that fuel will rise. Biden will increase taxes at the pump, on your mileage driven and your carbon foot print. "Mark my words, if you make less than 250K, your taxes will not go up."--Joe Biden.
Biden is the epitome of a swamp creature with zero business acumen.

Raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour and increasing the corporate tax rate, duh White and then you throw the price of gas on top of that. You’re increasing the min wage in NM by almost 50% and increasing the tax rate on already thin margin businesses. How do you think that works? Why are you trolling again? Or do you not have one iota of finance acumen?
That is not what the articles were about nor what the Republican Party of New Mexico put out as any kind of main thrust. It was about the Keystone Pipeline and a 100,000 New Mexico workers that made their living from it. I didn't write the articles or the statement from the Republican Party of New Mexico. I just read it because it was posted.
I have seen the minimum wage raised before. Jobs were not permanently lost. McDonalds did not go out of business. The dairy bar in Huntingdon, TN did not shut down due to it. Maybe it will happen this time, though it did not in the past. I cannot predict the future, especially if what happened every time in the past no longer gives any indication of the future anymore. I just want to know why it no longer applies.

So you have zero opinion on the min wage going up to $15 per hour? Seriously? LOL

The Keystone pipeline is irrelevant to NM--why even bring it up. Gas and oil leases that were closed on federal land by Biden's XO however affect NM tremendously.
The ones being used or new ones? We are a presently the Number one producer of Natural Gas on the planet and have been possibly all the way back to the last year of the Bush administration and will be, for a while.
