I have to agree, something is rather fishy about all these incidents in the past year. An attempt to remove a lawfully elected president without any evidence of wrongdoing. Honestly, since when is a virus with a 95% to a 99.9% SURVIVAL RATE a reason to totally shut down the United States of America? They won't because they made the bet that this thing would have a 3%-4% mortality rate in March and April, and they will refuse to admit that the situation changed.

Notice I am not saying they were wrong to react they way they did in March and April. The real problem would have been if the mortality rate went up instead of down as time went on. If it started approaching 10% we would have had to do a true hard lockdown, National Guard in the Streets, rations distributed to people hard locking down, and it would have had to last for months until the virus burned itself out.

The problem is they scared people so much early on (again, the right thing to do) that they have boxed themselves in, in their own minds, to just telling people if you are under 50 go out and live your life, stay isolated from your older relatives, and get things going back to normal.

For statist and authoritarian types its easy to drop the hammer, much harder to pick it back up and put it away.

What's really amazing is the speed at which the President has cleared the way for a vaccine AND bringing together the manufacturing and distribution entities that are ready now to receive and distribute millions and millions of doses when the vaccine is finally cleared for human use. People are easily scared, and the government used that in the beginning, and then I had no issue with it because we didn't know the mortality of the bug.
