AUSTIN – North Austin residents living near Lamar and Payton Gin, Rundberg and Interstate 35 are finding themselves in a debate over what to do about what they say is a growing homeless population.

Several residents living in the Georgian Acres area sent KVUE pictures of homeless camps and piles of trash left behind, a phenomenon neighbors say they first started seeing in October 2014.

I wouldn't want loads of homeless living next to my house though. Can't they find a more isolated spot?
There are no isolated spots really. Counties and States play whack a mole, as the police simply move the homeless problem from one community to another.

I bet the owners of that house are tempted to play whack a mole alright.

Are you familiar with this area?

Americans are convinced that the homeless are basically decent people temporarily down on their luck. Until they have to live with the homeless.
