You can't possibly please these people- I suspect the thorn in the authors side is that a farmer got rich-
 
But if you take away all of the Earth's lithium won't that cause the Earth to act crazy?

Luckily ... Lithium doesn't typically deposit anywhere but barren desert wastelands ... the Andean Altiplano for example ... no farming there ... not that EV's don't have a negative environmental effect ... we will still need to remove 90% of passenger vehicles from our roads ... walk or bicycle to work ...
