I have been following a couple of NBA teams that have injury issues. It also appears that players are given days off for no apparent reason, and they don't even show up in the box score. Most of the team is shown as either playing or "Did not play - coach's decision." But what about the others?

Porzingis seems to sit out every third or fourth game, and doesn't show up on the roster at all. Same with Harden, K. Irving, and Durant. I realize that if they are injured or sick they won't play, and the coach might decide to sit them, but shouldn't they at least show up in the box score?

Do the teams have "taxi squads" like the NFL teams, with players who fill in when a regular is sick or injured?

Teams are just limiting minutes played to save players for the playoffs when the real fun begins. They are active, but just being held back.

Load management. The guys playing in the NBA are *****’s nowadays
