I don't know why anyone would build their house near an active volcano. I went to an active volcano which has a road along the rim of the old volcano with a smaller volcano mountain inside the lake that sits around the new one. The road had loads of houses and flats, hotels, food places and the like.

I'd feel really uncomfortable.
