That first picture reminds of the Alabama song named "Song Of The South". At the beginning it is said, "We all picked the cotton, but we never got rich."

I chopped Cotton as a kid. I never got reparations. For those who do not know, farmers keep weeds out of Cotton rows. The workers take special hoes and use them to remove weeds and they call it chopping Cotton.
