Good example of suppression investment. They suppress to drive up value, save the data, then release it as a news package when it's too late to matter, capitalizing on each step. They do the same thing to people, not only news items. They'll do the same with elections, hold off and then when the imposter is done they say oh wait, he really lost. They can sell the truth they denied to the voters they betrayed, talk about just smooth.

So, if it's a person they're suppressing, they're counting on him to keep driving up endlessly so they can lift the cap at their own convenience and capitalize when they're ready. So if he quits and switches to something else, abandons the setup and gets out of their reach, then they've lost their investment, and in some cases it's a fortune. To him it wasn't an investment though, it was an exploitation.
