Billionaire Elon Musk 'Planning' To Buy £6 Billion Liverpool FC From FSG - Report

A report suggests Elon Musk could be making an offer for Liverpool.

What's the interest? Well, Liverpool itself is socialist in nature, reputation for benefits and unemployment. Rumour has it that Musk is looking to buy a UK football club, and Liverpool could be on his radar.

What a clash that would be !!

Musk doesn't care about the team. He wants an investment, and that's all that matters.

if they pull a profit and he can buy them in cash which he can, why not, it's an investment

Never said there was anything wrong with it, but claiming the purchase has anything to do with the political atmosphere in Liverpool is just nuts.

Well, the article states -

As a bid to expand in his power in the UK, Musk is reportedly looking to buy a football club, with Liverpool potentially a great opportunity for the X, Tesla and SpaceX owner to bolster his political aspirations.

My guess is, as I did a thread on Labour clamping down on Political Party donations from foreigners in the European section, Musk wanted to donate $100 to the Reform party because like most of the UK, he hates Starmer. I surmised a loophole where he could buy a business in the UK and that business would be free to donate the money.

But I'm just guessing, yet it kinda all falls into place.

when you are the richest man in the world sometimes you just want to buy something. Recall he was born in S.Africa which has and British connection

Sounds reasonable, but still an investment. You don't think he is supporting who he does if he didn't think it would make him money in the long run, do you?

Difficult to say with Musk because Twitter wasn't about money, it was about free speech. The idea of a club in the UK is allegedly for political aspirations. Would he pay £6bn for that?

2022 to 2023 season was a £9mn loss

I don't know US and UK taxation laws with writing losses off towards his businesses. Did writing down the asset value of X reduce the taxation on his portfolio of companies? No idea.

If he was a football enthusiast, he would do a Mileson and buy Gretna FC and revive it's fortunes.

Musk claimed it was about free speech, but in fact, it sealed his relationship with trump. Only a fool would think his connection to trump doesn't make him a fortune.

Is there a link in the US to someone credible stating that, or is that just your opinion?

Normally people go into politics to enrich themselves, Trump appears to be the first one who hasn't. I believe Musk is not earning a salary and wants all government subsidies everywhere scrapped.

Do you commend Trump for donating his $1.8mn forthcoming salary to homeless veterans? That's good, isn't it?

Do you commend him for charging us millions for staying in his own properties? Do you commend him for quadrupling the price at his properties?

You need to answer my question before I can answer yours.

Trump's salary is $400K per year, not $1.8 million.

I guessed $1.8mn after reading it a few days ago. But you're right, it's $1.6mn.

Do you find it commendable Trump is donating it to homeless veterans?

Your options are -

1 : Answer with a Yes or No (it's a closed question)

2 : Go quite

3 : Skirt around it and talk shite

4 : Ask question(s) without answering it

So you will choose option 2, 3, or 4.

I wonder if Musk will tune into the game today -
