During confirmation hearings for new DHS Sec Mark Mullin, Rand Paul started in on him from the get-go.

So Mullin turned the tables on him.

The fact is Rand Paul, and all of the other KY members of congress always sides with Democrats more than they do the GOP.

It seems to a disease that has spread from Mitch McConnell to the House members representing Kentucky.

Paul should run as what he is...A Large L Libertarian....He should no longer be backed by gop dollars in any future Senate run.

If he wins running as a Libertarian then he can ally with who he wants to on votes.

That said I have a lot more respect for him than Murkowski who is the poster child for the folly of ranked choice voting.

Interesting fact about Mullin. I have a high ranking military member of my family. They were stationed abroad for several months at one of our foreign embassies last year and Mullin, along with a few other Senators, were hosted there twice during that time. Of all their years in the military, that family member told me they have never dealt with a member of Congress so difficult and rude to other people than Mullin. They said the guy is a total asshole, so Paul's comments about him line up with what I've been told privately.

Rand Paul and Thomas Massie are exactly the limited spending, limited government conservatives the right has always said they've wanted, but they vote against Trump's initiative more than others because Trump is none of those things. MAGA has shown their cards. They aren't about limited spending and limited government; they are about worshiping Trump.

Not exactly.

While conservatism does call for lowering government spending, for a variety of very good reasons, it also recognizes that there can arise need for additional spending periodically.

I maintain that Massie is pretty much faithful to his beliefs. But, that doesn’t always mean that he’s right.

It is also true that since the Dims seek only to oppose and stymie all efforts (of every type) made by President Trump, Massie has ironically sided with those idiots more often than he should.

I watched some of the hearing. I'm not a huge Paul fan, although he appears to come across as pretty principled. And he ripped into Mullin on a very personal basis. Apparently, Mullin had been critical of Paul in some way after Paul was beaten by a neighbor and was in the hospital?? :dunno:
Anyway, the country is in serious trouble. Democrats are veering further Left and Republicans are fighting amongst themselves far too much.
This isn't good. Not good at all.

Mullin has been praised by most of his colleagues for his honesty and integrity while Rand Paul has undermined his fellow Republicans on numerous occasions. I agree with Mullin that Paul is a snake.

Be careful what you wish for....

because you also voted for Spanberger at least 3 times and viciously attacked EMH for wanting to AUDIT Spanberger's fraud election in 2022...

Rand will join LP, and he won't be the only one leaving the Only Israel Matters Party....

One day the rest of the MAGA base will realize Trump conned them

Well he is a low drag operator yo, or he says.
.

Republicans are less unified than Democrats are.

You have NO IDEA....

Start a US war with Iran over 100% pure lies and nothing in US National Interest after promising not to do that...

Is that the same guy who very recently stood up and pushed his chest out and challenged someone to a fight on the floor in the middle of a Senate hearing over a mean tweet or something like that?

He seems like kind of an unhinged punk. Seems to have some serious control issues, observably...
