Some people focus on being accurate, positive, beneficial, helpful even if they are seen as somewhat abrasive and/or caustic. Among those think of people like Ted Cruz.

MTG was that kind of force in the GOP until her ego took over and she became a toxic and negative element. Her approval rating in her own Georgia district--those would be the people who would re-elect her--has slipped substantially according to Newsweek and others. The leftwing media is trying to show stronger support for her but via anecdotal testimony rather than polling numbers.

IMO opinion, I could forgive her conspiracy theories and some other seemingly wacky ideas when she seemed pretty straight arrow on issues that matter. But she left the MAGA movement when she chose to become more single issue oriented and introduced a toxic element into what should have been reasoned debate and deliberation. I'm pretty sure that she felt her re-election was in deep trouble and didn't want to endure the humiliation of being rejected by the voters.

To her credit, however, she is quitting far enough ahead of the midterms for the GOP to put a good candidate in place to replace her. I appreciate that.

I really didn't expect MAGA to start falling apart less than one year into this.

How much of this is influencing from the media/entertainment complex and what is truth is of question. Sometimes it's always darkest before the dawn. What can be disheartening is that if there is truth in this, what do we do? Progressives are the swamp, incorporated.
