Mr Obama's promise that the media kept

I can't exactly recall if it was after the election results or after the inauguration when Mr Obama made the promise that his children were "off limits" to media coverage. Mr and Ms Obama have kept that promise and so has the media.
Amy Carter, Chelsea Clinton and both Barbara and Jenna Bush were never "off limits" to the media based upon my recollection of how the media reported on them.
I'm glad Mr and Ms Obama stood by that and i am surprised the media honored it.
