As an avid flyer this can be a game changer. Most of the flights I take are also pretty driveable. I can take the money and rent a car at the same place now.

The Transportation Department said airlines will be required to provide automatic cash refunds within a few days for canceled flights and “significant” delays.
Under current regulations, airlines decide how long a delay must last before triggering refunds. The administration is removing that wiggle room by defining a significant delay as lasting at least three hours for domestic flights and six hours for international ones.

What they don't mention is that likely weather related delays and cancellations will not trigger these rules.

Well, the new rules President Biden is now enforcing address the exceptions; not the rules...this is true. So the use will be, in a perfect world, seldom. For folks like me who fly 20-30 times a year or more...its pretty good.
