JEFFERSON CITY — The House and Senate voted to override Gov. Jay Nixon's veto of a bill that would lower the concealed-carry permit age to 19, arm specially trained teachers and school administrators, and loosen open-carry restrictions in some jurisdictions.

The Senate vote of 23-8 came after a lengthy discussion from Democratic Sens. Scott Sifton of Affton and Jolie Justus of Kansas City. At times, they examined the bill subsection by subsection and at one point veered into a discussion about the continued unrest in Ferguson. After about an hour of conversation, both voted against the override.

Yes, but we're sympathizing with Missourians and demanding that you "show me" the link!

...and thanks for the other two. The one you used wanted me to sign up for membership or reading rights.

how is this a good thing?

freedom. The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed....
so you like the idea of anyone and everyone carrying rifles down the street? you're in favor of taking away the rights of municipalities to set their own rules about when/where someone may carry a firearm?

what part of the "right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed" do you not understand? Municipalities are government. According to our Constitution, government "rights" do not trump our individual rights.

Is open carry of rifles legal in MO?
It is legal for a felon to carry a gun in MO?
you're in favor of taking away the rights of municipalities to set their own rules about when/where someone may carry a firearm?
Municipalities only have as much power as the state gives them.

so 'big government' is okay, so long as it's the state running things.
